If anywhere, Kuala Lumpur is a place to go five star when booking accommodation. Why? Well, you can stay at five star hotels for the same amount as you would in a New York City hostel bunk bed. Though, don’t go and explain the driver, who is chauffeuring you to the Sheraton Imperial, that you can’t except another ride with him, because you are on a budget. Although the room is taking you back a mere 40 euros, can you belive it’s still considered as a splurge.

And did we choose the Sheraton Imperial? For one thing, can you really go wrong with any Starwood hotel? To be honest, I was intrigued by the nice pictured lobby. The patterned tile floor, the cosy sitting area and oh my world, the high shell ornament curtained wall that looked so spectacular. And it was. Spectacular. And calming at the same time. The same ambience will follow you through the coridors right to your room. A Deluxe Twin Tower View Room, that is nice and spacious with a spectacular view of the twin towers and radio tower of course.

But only what your eyes can see, doesn’t make up for the hole experience of staying here. It’s the little things that you don’t think about when booking. Like the welcome watter bottles that are exactly what you need, when you come straight from the airport. The free selfservice coffee and tea. The tub that fills in minutes and will give you a nice DIY spa to ease your long day’s travels. The welcome note with my name on the LCD. And if your favorite time of the stay is like mine, the morning breakfast, mind your chin. It will drop. A buffet. Like no other. Oh, one can only eat so much.
