This year we decided not to splurge on accommodation and our decision gave us a really nice experience of staying in Bali. We still stayed at Artini, but this time at Artini nr. 1. This is not a budget accommodation or a downgrade of any kind, but a traditional Balinese family compound with three rooms to spare.
The first thing that you hear in the morning is a loud singing bird in front of our house, fallowed by the neigbours rooster, child’s laughter and broom sweeping. Right after that, the clock turn six thirty in the morning. Offerings from the family temple are already in place. Half hour later, you have consumed a carefully prepared breakfast and coffee so sweet your teeth may rotten. Seconds later, Brony the dog is kept loose and is making his way up the stairs to meet you. Usually in that order, this is how your day starts at Artini 1. All that and a smile.
Oooh … priceless 🙂
