In še eno dolgoletno željo sem si izpolnila. Rezervirala sem 25 hours hotel in spala z ilustracijo Olafa Hajeka.

Every now and than, every mom should do a little time off retreat. A quick recharge getaway, a quick need-to-get-in-touch-with-myself travel break. If there is a tired mom’s equivalent to Contiki travel agency, comment below.

I took a six hour train ride to Vienna, Austria and spent 25 hours (sleep included) by myself, walking the streets, shopping and window shopping, healthy eating, with a little diy spa in a nice hotel. That is all there was needed.

Soda Books
Schrannenhalle
Room to dream
Manufactum
Aesop

If you ever wondered about the German Ordung und Disziplin, make a visit during the holidays and you’ll soon get the filling of it. Unlike the Asian capitals, where there’s no Sundays, everything here gets closed, with a small exception of hotels maybe. When parking on the street, the car has to be parked in the direction of the traffic, otherwise you get a fine. That’s a busy Saturday in Munich and a very holidayish Sunday.

Nice places to visit:
Soda Books
Schrannenhalle
Room to dream
Manufactum

Že dolgo me fascinira ideja o počitnicah v lastnem mestu in pesti radovednost, kakšne zgodbe vse domujejo v našem urbanem resortu.

When I first stepped in Vander hotel, it was when Almira and I met on the top floor, to shoot some pictures for Almira’s book. What a nice afternoon we spent on one of the most beautiful rooftops of Ljubljana. So nice in fact, I had to return to Vander and create some pictures for a post on my blog too. Sun light terrace in the heart of the city, turquoise pool and muted bustling sounds from the streets below, that would rock you into an afternoon nap in a minute.

When I entered the reception, a group of content English guests were just leaving the hotel, looking forward to a Cavelier ride, en electricity run car, that transports anyone to the end of Ljubljana’s pedestrian zone. They looked like they had a lot of fun on they’re time in Ljubljana. Than a man swooshed by, holding a wrapped dress by it’s hanger up high, saying something in Slovene and than Ana Por, the hotel’s manager, who was showing me the hotel that day, answered my wondering face: “We have many newlyweds booking a room in our hotel, than they make just a few steps to the Town Hall, to say I do. We have guests stay with us on the night they visit an Opera too.”

Vander is busy with all sorts of nice stories, with people coming from all parts of the world, business and pleasure, and the best part is, that this magnificently designed place, is keeping the locals quite busy too. Deep dish lunches, dinners, cocktail hours, vine tastings and nice rooftop parties. Perfect urban mingling heaven.
